Happy New Year to all of you out there in the blogosphere! This year is shaping up to be a busy one, so I thought we kick off the new year with a blog post for the recently engaged. It is becoming more and more popular to ask your bridal party to be a part of your big day, and the requests seem to be getting more creative every time.

I was able to design a Bridal Party Invite for one of my clients this past year, which turned out to be one of my favorite projects from 2014. The bride-to-be had the idea to play off the 'something borrowed, something blue' theme, and had eight bridesmaid to ask!

Etani, the bride-to-be, gathered the items: a photo of her and the bridesmaid for 'old', a nail polish for them to use on the wedding day to match their dresses for 'new', a paint swatch and fabric swatch for the wedding colors and their bridesmaid dresses for 'borrowed', and finally some lovely forget-me-not flowers in a can for 'blue'. I created small labels which attached to each piece of the invite. The pieces were then placed in a keepsake box with matching labels for each of the bridesmaids. Finally, a paper invitation sat on the top of the gift, requesting:

I need something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and you. Will you be my bridesmaid?

Etani gave one of these gift boxes to each of her eight bridesmaids-to-be, all of which were so delighted with the unique gift. I mean, who wouldn't love to be a part of a wedding with such a grand invitation!?
